Next Monday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m., in the Cultural Area Room of El Corte Inglés, the talk 'Biotechnology and the C. elegans model in the laboratory of bioactive compounds' will take place.
Fernando Gandía Herrero, full professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Murcia (UMU), will delve into the biotechnological applications of enzymes and biomolecules obtained in the in vitro and in vivo studies of the small worm Caenorhabditis elegans.
Fernando Gandía Herrero is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UMU, author of more than 50 scientific articles, book chapters and a patent.
He is part of the research group 'Biochemistry and Enzymatic Biotechnology', one of the 15 Research Excellence Groups of the Region of Murcia through the Seneca Foundation.
This activity is organized by the Scientific Culture Unit of the Vice-rectorate of Communication and Culture of the University of Murcia, within the cycle of conferences 'The UMU and the scientific culture'.
The objective is to bring the research carried out at the University of Murcia to society closer.
