The Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, visited yesterday the Senior Language Club of French, in the cultural center of El Carmen, of which 17 young people are part, being 14 of them people with Down Syndrome, which form part of Fundown.

This activity takes place on Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the age of the participants is from 17 to 30 years, being the only Senior French Language Club.

This course will end before summer, completing one academic year.

In total, 440 young people are improving their knowledge of English, French and German, as well as the level of conversation, through cultural and recreational activities, free of charge.

"These language courses are presented as a complement to the academic training to practice a foreign language." The City of Murcia brings different training resources to the districts and neighborhoods of Murcia so that all citizens can learn and learn a second language. In addition, anyone, regardless of their circumstances, can be part of this project, and we are committed to the full inclusion of our young people and opportunities, "said Rebeca Pérez.

21 free language clubs throughout the municipality

The City of Murcia carries out 21 free language clubs distributed throughout the municipality.

12 language clubs are formed in districts and 4 in neighborhoods in the Junior category, aimed at young people between 12 and 17 years old.

These Clubs are in operation, each with several groups, in the municipal center «585m2 (2), young space», the municipal center «La Nave, young space» (2), the youth municipal center of El Palmar (2) , center of El Carmen (2), the Auditorium and Cultural Center of Beniaján (2), Cultural Center of Espinardo (1), Cultural Center of La Alberca (1), Cultural Center of El Esparragal (1), Cultural Center of Guadalupe (1) and Cultural Center of Santiago and Zaraíche (2).

For Senior, between 17 and 30 years, there are 5 clubs, of which 4 are in districts.

They take place in the cultural and social center of El Palmar, on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the Youth service, on Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the cultural center of the neighborhood from El Carmen, on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and in the municipal center of Santiago and Zaraiche on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
