The Association for the Conservation of the Garden and the Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) denounces the abandonment of the historic Molino de la Pólvora on the main ditch of Aljufía, in the middle of Murcia's orchard and between the districts of Rincón de Beniscornia and Guadalupe.
Huermur shows that the damage suffered by this unique mill dating from the eighteenth century is constant, as it is a constant source of waste disposal, pruning and even agricultural fires.
Some actions, highlight from the conservationist collective that are the result of the lack of vigilance in the area by the Local Police, as well as the Board of Landowners who is the owner of the mill, the channel and its margins.
The entity also denounces the abandonment of the land where the various archaeological remains found during the past summer are located, as well as the proliferation of abundant weeds in the area of the finds, since the vegetation is spreading without any control.
Similarly, Huermur has requested information from the City of Murcia on the duration of the useful life of the geotextile that covers the remains found, and that were buried by the Consistory for months, as well as the remission of the archaeological memories and the actions carried out over the mill and adjacent land.
Finally, from Huermur criticize that the City of Murcia and its leaders, have only come to this mill huertano to take the photo and the announcement of shift saying that it would be in value, but the reality of this mill today is of Authentic laziness and abandonment.
