The Biology Faculty of the University of Murcia starts next Monday, February 18, its XXXII Biology Week, which is celebrated with the aim of disseminating, scientifically and culturally, the many facets related to biology, biotechnology and environmental science.
Until Friday 22 the faculty will host conferences, open days and the celebration of the Biology Olympics, aimed at Secondary students.
The first of the conferences is held on Monday under the title 'Business activity, environment and eco-efficiency (circular economy)' by María Ángeles Franco Aragón, of the Global Paris company.
It will be at 1:00 pm in the classroom 0.6 of the faculty.
The Biology Week aims to disseminate science among the university community and to make known to their students professional opportunities and ways of future work in the field of Biology.
In addition, one of the fundamental axes is to bring Biology and science to students of 4th of ESO and Bachiller, with the purpose of awakening vocations in them and knowing the operation of the center.
It is expected that more than 600 school children will spend this week in the faculty.
During the XXXII Biology Week lectures will be held by experts in Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences, on different aspects of teaching and research;
exhibitions of autochthonous plants of the Region and scientific photographs and school drawings, as well as the awarding of prizes to the winners of the organized competitions.
The prizes will also be given to the two best academic records and to the best Master's Thesis in Bioinformatics and to the winners of the XIIIth Biology Regional Olympiad.
