The residents of Barqueros benefit from the improvement of the road that connects the district with Alcantarilla (15/02/2019)

The regional investment in this road will exceed 1.4 million |

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Patricio Valverde, today inaugurated the improvement works carried out by the Community on the regional highway RM-C1, which links Alcantarilla with the Murcian hamlet of Barqueros and the muleña de Librilla font.

Today, a first section of the road in Barqueros, 1.7 kilometers long, has been put into service, where the road surface and drainage have been improved and 823,300 euros have been invested.

To this figure it is necessary to add around 600,000 Euros more for the execution of the second phase of conditioning of the highway.

In this way, the Autonomous Community improves the road safety of about 10 kilometers of the regional highway RM-C1, which links the municipality of Alcantarilla with the hamlet of Barqueros Murcia and Fuente Librilla muleña, action that will involve an investment of 1,423 .000 euros.

The works in this first section consisted of the stabilization of the soil and the construction of natural drainages to avoid the filtration of water under the platform, increasing the comfort and safety of the road thanks to the improvement of the uniformity of the pavement.
