The Governing Board has awarded the works for the second phase of the Field of maneuvers for firefighters, located in San Ginés.
With this infrastructure, the members of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service will have a space that allows the realization of training activities in the most realistic conditions possible, simulating emergency actions in a variety of scenarios.
The ultimate goal is to improve the professional training of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service of the City of Murcia, training that will result in quality in the provision of the service, and therefore, in the safety of citizens.
The works will carry out different actions on a plot of 10,254 m2, consisting of:
Earthworks.
Fencing, leveling and internal urbanization of the plot, with concrete paving in "fire zones" (about 4,200 m2) and agglomerate in circulation areas (around 4,800 m2).
Facilities and services:
Electrical supply for lighting and power towers.
Supply of natural gas.
Water supply and sanitation network.
Water supply network for hydrants.
House of fire with two floors below ground.
Auxiliary building for classrooms, changing rooms, storage and other uses.
Area of ​​collapsed structures and confined spaces: consisting of a simulation of demolished buildings by stacking debris and a network of tunnels under surface for practices in narrow spaces.
Fire Esplanade: it is a space for maneuvers and practices with real fire, with an industrial zone based on metal structures, container area (flash-over), liquid fuel fire raft and tray area.
Around this space there are three protection booths and an observation tower, which allow to control and visualize the practices.
Traffic esplanade: for practices of release of vehicles in different situations, with a simulation of stretches of road and railway.
It is completed with a dirty classroom, for outdoor classes.
Facilities area: where there are two tram lines, medium voltage overhead lines, liquefied gas tank and a pool-raft for aquatic rescue practices.
This initiative aims to offer a high qualification to firefighters of the City of Murcia for the provision of their functions in emergency situations and public catastrophe.
It also seeks to bring the fire service to the population, as it will be established as a center for the dissemination of fire prevention for schools, associations, centers and companies.
The works will be executed by the UTE formed by Eneas Servicios Integrales and Sánchez y Lago in a period of 12 months and with an investment of 845,478 euros.
