The Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia, widely represented in the Large Contracts Review Commission, insists that the Consistory must once and for all take the decision to directly assume the collection of taxes in the municipality, as it has been claiming since the last legislature.
The spokeswoman of the PSOE in the City council, Susana Hernandez, plus Begoña Garci'a Retegui, Enrique Ayuso and Juan Vicente Larrosa, also councilmen of the Socialist Group, have participated in the meeting of this Commission that has been celebrated this Thursday.
This commission proposed to review the large municipal contracts was created at the proposal of the Socialist Group with two objectives, to verify that these contracts are executed correctly and fulfilling all the clauses stipulated in them;
and to see if it is possible to improve them for the next ones if they are to continue to be outsourced.
"The lack of a body superior to the services that clarifies and makes decisions in the face of contradictory reports among them, as well as the lack of transparency, responsibility and decision-making of the Popular Party in the Consistory creates misunderstandings, misinterpretations by the councilors and the councilors of the commissions, besides motivating lost hours of work on the part of the municipal technicians and the opposition groups ", explains Hernández, who explains the situation:
"We find another file with contradictory reports in several services, a first report in which it indicates that there was a breach of the Tribugest contract and that is why we must initiate a sanctioning process to the company that is responsible for the collection of taxes by a serious fault and the closure of the sanctioning file with other reports that come to recognize that the sanction procedure should never have been opened ".
The socialist representative considers "incredible" that for more than a year this Commission had not been convened despite the complaints made by the opposition political groups criticizing irregularities.
"This shows once again that transparency is not the strong point of Mayor Ballesta's team."
The spokeswoman of the PSOE adds that the Corporation would have to consider once and for all that the service of collection of taxes must be carried out directly by the City Council with workers of the Local Administration and this has been claimed by their group since the previous term.
