The Governing Board has approved the adjudication of the adequacy of the Segura River mota on its right bank for recreational use, from Los Molinos del Río to its end (in front of the FICA), with an approximate length of 1,550 meters.
The project contemplates the revegetation of this new recreational path with a great variety of species of different size adding a total of 165 trees and 4,124 shrub species.
Thus, forestation is planned on the side adjacent to the wall of the channeling (poplars, elms, willows ...), as well as the planting of shrubs throughout the length (tarais, myrtle, lavender, mastic ...) , providing all the irrigation specimens for their proper development.
Intermittently along the route, units of honeysuckle and native and riparian species will be planted.
In addition, the action on the slope of the mota is foreseen for the total elimination of invasive species.
Likewise, a pedestrian path will be created that will be adapted with a natural colored pavement of ocher color.
The project has a budget of 424,343 euros (the bid amount was 570,000 euros), 80% of which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The execution period is 4 months, with an additional 12 months for the treatment of the slopes to eradicate the existing invasive species.
The works will be developed by Pavasal Empresa Constructora SA
