The Campus of Los Jerónimos has hosted the Scientific Olympics '19, organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit, which is part of the Vice-Rector for Research, and co-financed by the Seneca Foundation.
The San Jorge, San José, Mirasierra, San Buenaventura, Maristas 'La Sagrada Familia' schools, the El Limonar International School, the ADN Centro Educativo, the San Pablo CEU, the San Antonio Superior Institute of Murcia, the IES Alfonso X El Sabio, the IES Juan Carlos I and the Los Olivos Educational Center.
The students have been examined in nine different categories: Nursing, Sports, Food, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, as well as Architecture and Building Engineering.
"In addition to the areas of health, sports and nutrition, we have also had a great impact in the area of ​​technical careers," said Estrella Núñez, Vice Chancellor of Research at UCAM.
He also commented that "the Olympics have a diversity of activities and, as a novelty, a program has been made in Iradio in which the promotion of the scientific spirit, excellence and the trajectory of the University in this sense has been discussed".
It should be noted that the three best students in each category will be awarded: the first classified will receive the enrollment of the first university degree course related to the selected Olympiad and a tablet;
the second classified 50% of the enrollment of the first year of that degree and one SportCam, and the third classified 25% of the enrollment of the first year of the race related to the area in which he has made the tests of the competition.
However, it should be noted that the first prize will have to have a score of 8 or higher;
the second of 7.5 or higher and the third prize of 7 or higher to get both the registration and the gifts.
In addition to the tests they have carried out, the students have toured the facilities of the Campus of Los Jerónimos where they have been able to visit the simulation room, the anatomy laboratory and the robotics laboratory, among others.
