Councilor Conchita Ruiz explains in the cycle 'Mediation Wednesdays' the initiative 'Adapting: Two houses, one family', which is provided by the Association for Mediation of the Region of Murcia, whose objective is to support the children and improve the relationships
The Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, participates this afternoon in the cycle 'Mediation Wednesdays', in which she will expose the program 'Adapting: Two houses, one family', which offers tools to parents to promote the welfare of their children during or after the divorce of the couple.
The initiative, which takes place in the center of the Mariana Pineda woman, of the Fleet, is based on the Deusto FamilyPsych project, of the University of Deusto, is taught by the Association for the Mediation of the Region of Murcia, which counts for it with a subsidy from the City Council.
Throughout 10 group sessions, participants acquire tools and strategies to reduce conflict between parents in the process of separation and the negative effects for children, facilitating the transition to a new family operation more beneficial for all.
Conchita Ruiz has defended the collaboration with programs that, as it happens with this one, 'allow to reduce the level of stress and protect the children of the harmful consequences of possible conflicts between the couple that is extinguished'.
At the same time, the councilor stressed that the importance of 'working with fathers and mothers indirectly affects their children, particularly their physical, mental and emotional well-being and the prevention of social risk in them'.
'If in any conflict of any nature it is important to find solutions prior to the judicial process, it is even more so when dealing with conflicts in which minors are immersed,' explains Conchita Ruiz, who considers it essential 'to help manage conflicts of non-violent or abusive way. '
Last Saturday, the last session of this program was held, which will begin a new edition in the coming days.
Mediation Wednesday
This workshop has focused the participation of the Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation in the cycle 'Mediating Wednesdays' that take place in the Molinos del Río.
Today's session, coordinated by the Association for Mediation of the Region of Murcia, was based on complementary programs to family mediation: intervention through groups.
