The 10th edition of the International Film Festival of Murcia (IBAFF), which will take place from 1 to 10 March at the Regional Film Archive, opens its call for popular jury, volunteer and seminar Criticism.
The IBAFF offers all citizens the possibility to vote those films of the Official Section to the contest, watched during the festival, through a voting sheet that can be obtained by requesting it at the entrance to the room and whose vote will go to obtain of the Public Prize.
But to ensure that the vote is democratic and fair, the IBAFF creates the Popular Jury service, guaranteeing a minimum number of votes for all the films.
The Popular Jury Service offers 30 places to citizens who commit to attending and viewing the films of the official section between March 1 and 10.
The Popular Jury will vote from 1 to 10 all the films watched and will be able to make their criticisms in the media placed at their disposal.
They can also develop an active life during the festival, generating dialogue between professionals, citizens, volunteers ...
To participate as a popular jury, you must send a request to juradopopular@ibaff.es indicating the name, surname and IBAFF 2019 POPULAR JUSTICE APPLICATION until February 22.
On the other hand, as in previous years, the IBAFF International Film Festival, through the IBAFF Volunteer Service, manages the volunteer work of the festival, favoring the participation of citizens in its process and execution.
The collaboration of IBAFF volunteers focuses on auxiliary services, and excludes the assumption of technical, risk or responsibility tasks in any of the areas of organization and production of the Festival.
The tasks will be supervised by the heads of the production teams and corresponding managers and organized by the Volunteer Coordinator.

Finally, the inscription to the Film Criticism Seminar is opened, under the academic guidance of Caimán Cuadernos de Cine that will take place at the Regional Film Archive from March 4 to 8, coinciding with the 10th Edition of the International Film Festival of Murcia from 10 to 14 hours.
The course aims to offer an introduction to the theory, history and practice of film criticism.
The purpose of the different subjects is to encourage reflection on the meaning of the images, provide basic notions for the interpretation of the cinematographic text, know the criteria of film analysis, review the main theories and critical tendencies, understand the different models and professional spaces for the exercise of criticism, as well as offering professional guidance to students.
Among the teachers is Carlos Heredero, director of the magazine, Juanma Ruiz, film critic;
Jordi Costa, critic of the newspaper El País, and Roberto Cueto, film critic and programmer.
