The councilor Begoña García Retegui raised a plea to the House with the intention that the Law of Heritage that affects public spaces such as the Salzillo Museum, the Romea Theater, the Murcia Casino and the Basilica of Algezares, among others
In March 2018, a motion was approved unanimously by the Municipal Socialist Group that sought to comply with the Heritage Law of the Region of Murcia, which has been systematically breached by the Autonomous Community in the articles that refer to the free enjoyment on the part of the citizenship of the Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the municipality.
In the motion the municipality was urged to transfer to the Regional Government the request for compliance with said Law with the opening for free public visit of said Goods at least four days a month with schedules and days previously indicated.
"We talked about allowing access to the La Alberca Martirium, the Salzillo Museum, the Paleochristian Basilica of Algezares, the Romea Theater, the Casa Diaz Cassou or private buildings such as the Casino de Murcia, the Convent of the Augustinians, the Jerónimos, Santa Catalina del Monte, the Hermitage of the Steps of Santiago or the Vinader Palace ", points out García Retegui, who raised a request in that sense to the Plenary.
Given that the Community continues to deprive citizens of a right contained in the Heritage Law, the PSOE asked last November the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, for the actions initiated to comply with the agreement. of Plenary.
"He answered immediately that he would gather information and we would move it as soon as possible, but today the Law is not fulfilled nor the councilor has kept his word," says the socialist mayor, who claims the mayor, José Ballesta , the relevant explanations in this regard.
