The City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization of Urban Administration and Development directed by José Guillén, renews and extends the Plaza de San Juan Bautista in Alquerías.

The residents of this district can already enjoy a more modern and safe place, which also has more space by adding a housing area of ​​more than 120 square meters.

With these works has been able to give a new air and utility to this green area of ​​the district, which now has 500 square meters of recreation area completely renovated.

The totally degraded concrete surface that existed before has been replaced by cobblestone.

The trees located in the square have also been revised and pruned so that they can develop in the best conditions and can shade the area in the hottest months.

In this way, the City Council continues working on the arrangement and improvement of the different green areas of the municipality, thereby increasing the quality of life of its neighbors.

In the last three years new green areas have been created, for children's games and many of them have been renovated throughout the municipality, and especially in districts such as Alquerías.

Here has been completely renovated the largest garden that has the hamlet and have installed new playgrounds, these are the most remarkable improvements of all that have taken place.
