The University of Murcia has held this Friday the Institutional Reception to international students who will make their mobility stay at the University of Murcia during the second quarter of this year, with which the International Welcome Week of the UMU begins, # BUMI.
In an act held in the Auditorium, the Vice-rector for Internationalization, Senena Corbalán, presented the activities scheduled for this week, organized in collaboration with the City of Murcia and the ESN Murcia student association (Erasmus Student Network).
Thanks to all these activities the students will know the city of Murcia and the Region, as well as its culture and gastronomy.
At the end of the ceremony, the Modern University Choir offered a lively concert.
This second semester, 257 international students join the UMU, which, added to those of the first semester, means that during the 2018-19 academic year there are about 900 students who have chosen the University of Murcia.
On the part of the UMU, more than 750 students will make a stay in foreign partner universities this course.
In total, almost 1650 students from 52 different countries will be involved in mobility programs managed by the UMU's International Relations Department throughout this course.
On Monday, February 4, international students will be received by the mayor, José Ballesta, in the plenary hall of the City of Murcia.
After the reception, you will take a guided tour through the historic center of the city.
The activities of the #BUMI include, in addition, guided visits to museums and monuments of the city, tasting of typical Murcian tapas, cinema evening, international festival, trip to Granada and excursions to Cartagena and Jumilla.
