The Mayor of Sangonera la Seca, Catalina Carrillo, of the Popular Group, inaugurated this morning the II Conference of Intercenters for the Day of Peace in which the three schools of the parish participate: the CEIP San José de la Montaña, the CEIP Vicente Medina and CEIP Pablo Gil Castillo.
The president of the Municipal Board of this district has explained that "the argument of this activity was considered the culture of the American Indians as an inspiring reference of values ​​of peace, balance, love and respect for nature. , despite the unequal and unjust struggle to defend their survival and their way of life, has left us numerous references that on this day we propose to pay tribute. "
All the students of the three centers, grouped by age, and almost 60 teachers, along with the monitors will participate in this meeting that seeks to raise awareness and awareness of the World Day of Peace.
Some of the activities that will take place during the day will be storytelling, peace games with skill and dexterity tests, circus games or break-dance activities, among others.
"In its first edition last year we used the space of the festival grounds, but at the request of the teachers, this year we will do it in the municipal indoor pavilion and in the San José de la Montaña school. in which more children from our district take part, always seeking to instill values ​​of peace and coexistence from a young age, "Carrillo states.
This year's theme is Eduardo Galeano: 'many small people in small places doing small things can change the world', a phrase that has been reflected a few days ago as a mural in the Sangonera la Seca with the help of students of the three schools in the district.
"They are inspiring words that invite us to take responsibility for our actions and to be aware that an action, however small, has a powerful echo in the universe, since everything adds up and everything is contagious," concludes Carrillo.
