In the afternoon, at 4:30 a round table will be held on "The role of the University in the Sustainable Development Goals", in which the mayor, José Ballesta, will participate
The University of Murcia will dedicate this Thursday, January 31, to the presentation of the ODSesiones UMU project, the commitment of the institution for the dissemination and awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations.
The acts will begin in the morning with the great presentation of the project, which will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Business starting at 11.30 am.
The event will be chaired by Fernando López Miras, president of CARM;
José Luján Alcaraz, rector of the UMU;
Belén Crespo Sánchez-Eznarriaga, from the high commissioner of the Government of Spain for the 2030 Agenda;
and Santiago García Granda, president of the sector commission of CRUE-Sustainability.
The presentation will be in charge of Joaquín Longinos Marín-Rives, delegate of the rector for the Social Responsibility and Transparency of the UMU.
After the reception of authorities by the rectoral team, a visit will be made to exhibitors from different NGOs located at the entrance of the faculty and, later, the project will be detailed in the auditorium.
In the afternoon, the events around the UMU ODS will continue with the celebration of a round table entitled The role of the University in the Sustainable Development Goals, which will take place in the Hall of Degrees of the Faculty of Economics and Business at 4.30 pm hours and which will feature the interventions of Belén Crespo, Santiago García and the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.
With this initiative, the University of Murcia will dedicate each month to a Sustainable Development Goal, developing activities of awareness, curricular sustainability and social impact in collaboration with experts, NGOs, companies and public institutions.
The programming for the month of February will be dedicated to the 'ODS 1: End of Poverty', with more than forty activities that will focus, above all, on the Faculties of Social Work and Economy and Business.
