The Ethiopian, Mexican, Ukrainian and Murcian gastronomy with "El Churra" joins Mixtura returning this weekend to El Carmen (30/01/2019)

There will be 13 stalls with Murcian and international food, among which you can buy international sweets to complete the gastronomic offer. In addition, this edition will have more than 50 craft stalls on the street Álvarez Quintero with Senegalese clothing, esparto and natural products among other dances international, crafts, gastronomy, children's workshops and much more to celebrate the international street market that extends its schedule until Sunday

The international street market Mixtura, which takes place in the neighborhood of El Carmen thanks to the ADN Urbano project, returns after the success of the first edition this weekend, extending its schedule until Sunday, February 3.

The gastronomic area will count on this occasion with 13 international food stalls with restaurants from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Morocco, Bolivia, Mexico, Ethiopia, and local representations such as the restaurant 'El Churra' that will bring Álvarez Quintero Street and Santa Úrsula the representation of Murcian food.

These positions will be all Saturday, offering lunches and dinners, and on Sunday morning, and as a novelty candy stands will be included to complete the culinary offer.

In addition, this meeting will host as the previous time a part of crafts, where you can enjoy the best artisan products, both international and local, also betting on young talent.

The schedule will be from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.

Maruja Pelegrín, Councilor for Trade and Institutional Relations, said that "this time the number of posts has been increased, there will be more than 50 who will participate in this edition to show and sell products that are handmade, in an original way, and that some of them symbolize the tradition of a community, or use materials that involve the recovery of an artisan tradition typical of a region or culture.

"We will have handmade jewelery, with products from Ukraine, traditional games from different parts of Africa, esparto, Senegalese clothing and much more, so we invite everyone to come and participate in this international market and come to this day so special that is celebrated in the neighborhood of El Carmen, "adds Pelegrin.

"We will also have workshops for children to learn about other cultures, and also, as a novelty the youth center La Nave will bring international dance exhibitions and will cover the event with its radio 'Onda Nave' and with the students that make it up, all this to boost the area and also show the different cultures and international folklore ", declares the Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz.

Ruiz said that "the most important thing of this day, which is why it was born, is the multiculturalism, that all the neighbors know the rest of the cultures that live in this neighborhood, one of the hallmarks of identity that emerged thanks to the participatory process of DNA Urban of El Carmen ".
