Murcia will become the national capital of flamenco from February 14 to 23 with the celebration of the XXVI edition of the Flamenco Summit that will schedule a dozen activities.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, has indicated that "since last year we offer important support from the City of Murcia to this summit hosting it as an event in its festivals." We return, one more edition, to schedule shows of all the flagship names of flamenco, young and old, classic and innovative to keep the Flamenco Summit as a prestigious brand within the Spanish flamenco world ".
Thus, in addition to the six shows that will be held at the Teatro Circo, Teatro Romea and Teatro Bernal, three Flamenco Appetizers will be held at Paseo Alfonso X.
As a novelty this year, the flamenco fashion show will leave the Romea Theater to be held also on the Paseo Alfonso X.
The programming will begin with the absolute premiere of 'Close heels.
Four bailaoras murcianas' in which Nadia Márquez, Cynthia Cano, Maise Márquez and Carmen Coy will perform on February 14, 2019 from 9:00 pm at the Teatro Circo Murcia

The 'Lamps Mining' of El Rampa, Gema Jiménez and Nadia Márquez will arrive on Saturday, February 16, at 9 pm at the Bernal Theater in El Palmar.
The children will also have their space in this Buy Flamenca with 'LA Cinderella' by the Compañía Murciana de Danza on Sunday, February 17, at 6 pm at the Romea Theater.
This show of Spanish ballet, inspired by pieces by the great musicians Isaac Albéniz, Ruperto Chapí and Joaquín Turina and interspersed with folk-nuanced music from the north and south of Spain, without forgetting the most lively and festive flamenco.
Another absolute premiere will take place on February 22, at 9:00 pm at the Romea Theater with the 'Con-Cuesta flamenco for piano and orchestra', composed by Abdón Alcaraz and the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra, (directed by Paco Suárez of the European Romaní Symphonic Orchestra) and with Salvador Martínez as guest artist.
Abdón Alcaraz's Flamenco Concerto for Piano and Orchestra is a work written between December 2016 and September 2018. It is developed from three movements executed to two (romantic characteristic) and tries to transmit the greatness of flamenco music through the union of the piano with the classical orchestra
Remedios Amaya and El Pele will close the program on Saturday, February 23 at 9:00 p.m., at the Teatro Circo Murcia with the show 'Únicos', a recital of classical cante with all the secrets that flamenco keeps, approached by two unique voices, first figures of truth in the current jondo panorama.
Remedios Amaya impregnates flamenco with a singular color, dark moans and innate rhythm while El Pele complements the artist with her metal from another angle of feeling and a clean spring that bathes her voice.
Flamenco appetizers
Continuing with the tradition initiated last year, the Flamenco Festival of the city of Murcia, in collaboration with the City of Murcia, maintains in its program 'Los aperitivos flamencos', a way of provoking the citizenship to be almost casual This art while you take an appetizer.
