Councilman Jesus Pacheco received today in Fitur the award given by the State Secretariat for Tourism and recognizes the effort made by the City Council and businesses in the tourism sector of the city in the implementation of quality services
The Secretary of State for Tourism today delivered to Murcia the award for the best destination of the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destination (SICTED) 2018, in recognition of the effort made by the City Council and the companies of the city in the management and implementation of services quality.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, has collected in Fitur the award, sponsored by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and funded by the State Secretariat for Tourism, and whose goal is that destinations tourism reach a level of homogeneous quality, making public institutions and private companies bet on offering exclusive products, quality services and personal treatment that meets the expectations of tourists during their stay.
Murcia has been chosen in the ninth edition of the SICTED Awards as Best Destination SICTED 2018 between the cities of Plasencia, Zafra, Pollensa, Sanxenxo, Ferrol, Vitoria and Encartaciones.
The current situation of the SICTED project has 191 destinations adhered to the project and 7,941 companies / services from 35 different jobs, of which 5,592 (70%) are distinguished.
Murcia is ranked number 9 with 107 distinguished companies.
Councilman Jesus Pacheco has indicated that "the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs has been making important efforts to extend and consolidate the implementation of SICTED with an intense work of awareness and training of agents, both public and private that make up the offer in the destination and that can condition the perception and satisfaction of the tourist ".
It is necessary to remember that last year a satisfaction survey of destination SICTED was carried out, for which 230 questionnaires were carried out during the months of June to October, and which concluded that 98% of the respondents would recommend Murcia as a tourist destination and the Overall rating of the stay was scored with 4.5 out of 5.
In this way, the Tourism Quality service, which belongs to the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, collected numerous data on Murcia as a tourist destination.
The best ratings were for hospitality, accommodation, tourist information, catering and trade services and security, all superior to 4 out of 5.
