The Cathedral Chapter celebrated today the anniversary of the dedication of the Cathedral.
In the chapter records of the Cabildo it is evident that this festival has been celebrated since time immemorial and, in addition, it is commanded to celebrate this day every year.
The Dean of the Cathedral, Juan Tudela, presided over the celebration of a solemn Mass after the prayer of the Intermediate Hour and wanted to emphasize that "it is an important day for the Diocese, since the consecrated temple refers us to Jesus Christ and when it is a cathedral, because it is still the seat of the Bishop. "
On the anniversary of the Cathedral candles were lit in each of the twelve columns marked with the cross and that on the day of their consecration they were anointed, next to the main altar, with the Holy Chrism.
"A very exciting day to thank God.
We all congratulate ourselves for this wonderful cathedral temple that is so beautiful and that it is a sign, without a doubt, of the city of Murcia and the Region, not only from the artistic point of view but also as a unit of the entire diocesan Church ", expressed Juan Tudela.
