The City of Murcia, through the Department of Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden led by Antonio Navarro, has planted more than 1,200 Aleppo pines and 500 shrubs between mastic trees, wild olive trees and black hawthorns, in the Municipal Park of the Polvorines in the district of Monteagudo.
The works were developed during the first fortnight of January in an approximate area of ​​60,000 m2, dominated by pine forests of Aleppo pine, where it was proceeded to repopulate with the opening of holes with backhoe the subsequent planting, irrigation and placement of protectors.
Under the pine forest came the planting of mastic trees, wild olive trees and black thorns in the abundant shady areas.
The Municipal Park of the Polvorines is a natural space dedicated to recreation and recreation of the residents of Monteagudo since it has the necessary infrastructure so that the residents of the hamlet can cook and celebrate meals and has areas of barbecues, banks, tables and sources of drinking water.
This thousand trees adds to the 11,000 planted in the municipality since 2015, which has meant the withdrawal of more than 8,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.
