The City of Murcia begins to install at the end of next week fifteen new bus shelters in bus stops of districts.
The locations have been selected after the study carried out by the Transportation Service of the Department of Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, directed by Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, who has determined that these sites were the most appropriate according to the number of travelers who access to the bus in those stops and to the requests of the presidents of the municipal boards.
Also, it has been taken into account that the conditions of the place allowed its installation and have the necessary space.
In particular, the stops where the canopies will be placed are:
- Juan Carlos I, crossing of El Puntal
- Calle Mayor (pharmacy) of El Palmar
- Avda. Constitución, Sangonera la Verde
- José Velasco Square, El Esparragal
- Moreras street, front nursery, Santiago el Mayor
- Los Pajaritos, Patiño
- Pharmacy, Patiño
- Avda. De Santiago, Santiago and Zaraíche
- New Homes, Cabezo de Torres
- Avda. Juan XXIII, Cabezo de Torres
- Alto de las Atalayas Salesianos Avenue, Cabezo de Torres
- Calle Mayor, Curva del Valenciano, Los Garres
- Mirador del Majal Blanco, Sangonera la Verde, Torreguil
- Avda. Region of Murcia, Los Dolores
- Avda. El Progreso, Barrio del Progreso
In all cases they are places where until now there were no canopies, so with their installation Eduardo Martínez-Oliva emphasizes that 'we can improve the conditions in which travelers wait for the arrival of the bus'.
In addition, it will not suppose any added cost to the Town Hall since it is part of the contract.
The works are scheduled to begin at the end of next week and they are all scheduled for mid-March.
