The Catholic University of Murcia reaffirms its commitment to sport through a collaboration agreement with the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).
Through this agreement, the High Performance Sports Research Center (CIARD) of the UCAM and the RFEA will collaborate so that the resources of both entities can be coordinated in the field of research and application of technical, scientific and procedural knowledge in the field of health. and sports performance for federated athletes and, specifically, athletes of the federation program of the RFEA developed for the March Sector.
CIARD of the UCAM has been monitoring international marchers for several years, such as Miguel Ángel López (World and European Champion), Manuel Bermúdez (silver medal in the 2016 World Cup) and Amanda Cano, among others.
Through this agreement, both entities will streamline collaboration through the establishment of specific physiological and functional assessment programs and biomedical monitoring both in the field of health and the performance of athletes.
In addition, they will also carry out exchanges of information and mutual advice based on the data obtained in these follow-ups and the lines of research in the academic field that may be generated.

Within the March Sector of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and as an essential part of this project, the figure of José Antonio Carrillo, president of the UCAM Athleo de Cieza and mentor of great Olympic marchers of the Region of Murcia as Fernando Vázquez, stands out.
