The University of Murcia inaugurates this Thursday, January 17, the exhibition 'Connections' by Estella Belle, which will take place in the room The Chapel of the convalescent building, at 20:00.
Estella Belle studied Plastic Arts, Design and Textile Specialization at the Artediez Art School in Madrid.
Her main interests are linked to traditional feminine textile work, the recovery of materials from ancient objects and travel.
The artist bases her work on reflection on things and our close relationship with them.
In this exhibition, "some traditional scenes represent our connection with our own roots, our environment and therefore with ourselves", as Belle explains.
The works are composed mostly of selected materials and recovered as bohemian crystals, old fabrics and lace that represent the knowledge, reflection and strength of tradition in the female world.
According to the artist, 'Connections' "has as its objective the dialogue between the viewer and the work through visual metaphors, showing the most unexpected side of the material rescued in interaction with the imagination".
The works will remain on display until February 22 and can be visited from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m.
