The Heritage Service of the City Council manages every year the small repairs necessary in the municipal buildings so that they are in good condition for use by Murcians.
Among these buildings are senior centers, women's centers, youth centers, cultural centers and administrative buildings.
Since 2015, the Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, directed by Rafael Gómez, has allocated to these works a total of 1.6 million euros in the last four years, in which 395 actions were carried out.
Apart from these maintenance works, there have also been special interventions throughout 2018. This is the case of the refurbishment of premises No. 9 and 10 on the ground floor of the Saavedra Fajardo building for municipal offices, specifically one of the spaces for the Department of Social Rights and another for the location of the Municipal Board of District-East.
This project was awarded last month with a budget of 61,679.62 €.
The project of works related to the Single Follow-up Center (CEUS) and the Traffic Control Room was also managed, which is currently in the bidding phase, with a budget of 349,243.44.- €.
On the other hand, projects have been drafted, both for conservation and improvement actions in municipal buildings, as well as for demolition and adaptation, among them, the demolition of Beniaján's library or the adaptation of the conciliation center for family life and work in El Palmar.
