Corvera hosted today the extraordinary Government Board chaired by the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta.
The district will host the first Fairgrounds and Fiestas del Campo de Murcia, a new infrastructure of 5,700 m2 with capacity for 8,000 people.
The project is now ready for approval and, subsequently, it will be put out to tender, so that the works of the new infrastructure, which has a total budget of 273,960 euros and a deadline of six months, will begin before the summer.
"It is an infrastructure with a high social profitability, as it responds to a demand not only from the residents of Corvera, but also from the populations that make up the Campo de Murcia, such as Bańos y Mendigo, Lobosillo, Valladolises, La Murta, The Martinez of the Port, Avileses, Gea and Truyols and Sucina, that add a population of 12,400 inhabitants ", the councilor of PedanĂŤas and Participation, Marco Antonio Fernandez emphasized
It is the first fairground in the Murcia countryside, a wide and versatile multipurpose space, with covered facilities and a large outdoor area, which stands out for its open, modern and open design.
It will be built on a plot of municipal property, with a contribution of more than 223,000 euros by the City of Murcia and 50,000 euros from the Community, through the Campoder program.
The new Campo de Murcia Fairgrounds, which is located very close to the center of Corvera, to the south of the hamlet, will have a large esplanade with perimeter fencing for the celebration of mass events such as fairs, sectorial days, parties, business activities and social, as well as concerts and cultural events.
In that ample space in the open air can be installed booths, attractions, stands and different types of temporary infrastructures for the celebration of activities.
In addition, the enclosure will have a covered area of ​​450 m2 with a height of up to 9 meters, which also allows the installation of different equipment.
The new surroundings will have LED lighting and will be communicated through the Fuente Álamo road (RM-601), the Martínez del Puerto highway and the Finca del Villar road.

The infrastructure is a claim made by the residents of Corvera, through his pedáneo, Miguel Angel Noguera, who indicated that the site "will host the celebration of the patron saint of October, in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, providing greater comfort and security to the neighbors thanks to this new enclosure ".
The district of Corvera has 2,400 inhabitants.
Noguera indicated that "we want to organize in this new equipment events such as the Fair of Handicrafts, Agriculture and Commerce;
the Medieval Market;
and the activities and galas of the students of the school of the town, the center Isabel Belvis, besides other meetings of public interest ".
