The Socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia states that "it is clear that with a game in the current budgets of subsidies for the promotion of employment of about 305,000 euros, which is less than ten euros per unemployed, this situation can not be resolved."
The socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, says that when he is mayor will create a council of employment that is endowed with the necessary human and financial resources to be dedicated to support the unemployed of the municipality.
"Murcia and Murcia who are in a situation of unemployment deserve to have a department that works for them, to find a decent position and leave a situation of precariousness and abandonment by the City Council, which is their closest administration, which should ensure these people, "he said.
Serrano bet, therefore, for a council only for Employment in which there is a political leader who does not have to share their functions with the areas of Tourism, Culture or Parties.
"In this way, we will grant one of the main problems of our society the importance that it really has and we will look for the best solutions, dialoguing with the social agents and vindicating before the competent administrations the programs of employment promotion and the aid that correspond to us "
"Starting from the fact that employment is an essential factor for welfare and social cohesion and that there are more than 30,000 unemployed people in the municipality, among whom are over 45, women and youth, and when there are 19,000 families in those that do not enter any income, the City Council can not remain without doing anything. Therefore, it should demand the decentralization of competences in employment policies playing a driving, innovative and proximity role, "Serrano states.
In this sense, he points out that "it is evident that with a game in the current budgets of subsidies for the promotion of employment of about 305,000 euros, which is less than ten euros per unemployed, this situation can not be resolved".
The socialist candidate also indicates that "it is necessary to increase the budget allocated to employment and restore aid to self-employed workers and entrepreneurs" and that "they have already been contemplated in the Pact for Employment, promoted by the Municipal Socialist Group during the current mandate , but suppressed by the PP ".
Similarly, Serrano notes that new economic sectors related to garden tourism or renewable energy can be promoted, as well as streamlining licenses to create businesses.
But it also proposes measures to adopt the opening of an entrepreneurship center, programs for the professional requalification of the unemployed and, as a priority objective, a plan for the return of talent.
For the socialist candidate, "there is much to be done in an area that is so worrisome and that puts at risk the progress and well-being that our society deserves".
