For the sixth consecutive year, the Theater Workshop integrated by 33 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 15 will represent an adaptation of the Auto de Reyes, recovering a tradition that had been lost in Bacons Bridge in 1968.
Auto de los Reyes Magos, also known as Adoration to the Magi, is a work written probably in the twelfth century as deduced from the letter.
It was found in a codex in the library of the cathedral chapter of Toledo, by the canon Don Felipe Fernández Vallejo, currently being kept in the National Library of Spain.
The name was assigned in 1900 by Menéndez Pidal.
It is considered the first Castilian and Spanish theater play.
In Bacons Bridge the Association of Friends of the House of Bethlehem has been developing a children's theater workshop with an adaptation of this codex since it is about children and the duration is approximately one hour.
From October to December, the rehearsals were directed by the theater professor Juan Angel Masegoso who was director of the School of Dramatic Art and Dance of Murcia.
A group of 12 volunteers of the association and members of the Board of Directors are in charge of the costumes, props, music and organization.
Since 2008, the association has been developing various cultural activities, becoming the Auto de Reyes Infantil in one of the most interesting among partners and the general public.
