The mayor José Ballesta attends the start of the works of the new sidewalk that responds to a historical claim of this village nucleus.
The works directly benefit a score of families, have a deadline of three months and involve an investment of close to 85,000 euros.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, visited today the start of the construction of the new sidewalk that provides accessibility and security to the residents of Avenida de la Raya, responding to a historic claim of this district of the district.
The action provides direct access to a score of families who, until now, were forced to access their homes from the shoulder of the regional highway RM-B4.
It has an execution period of three months and involves an investment of 84,700 euros.
"The neighbors will enjoy new and wide sidewalks, almost 500 m2 of pedestrian surface along a total of 240 linear meters, providing accessibility to this area of ​​entrance to the town that, until now, lacked it," said Rebeca Pérez
The works have begun with the pre-demolition of the part of the road where the new sidewalk will be built, two meters wide, which will run along the houses on the left bank of the road.
The execution of the project has been possible thanks to the assignment made by the respective owners of the houses.
The sidewalk of new construction will have an artificial gravel layer, concrete base in mass and prefabricated colored paving slab with curb next to the road.
It has taken into account the leveling of records and manholes, the replacement of vertical and horizontal signs and, in general, the repair and replacement of services and easements affected by the work coordinated by the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services.
