The Municipal Socialist Group in the City of Murcia, echoing the news published by eldiario.es, claims "transparency" in relation to the procedures that, according to this means of communication, are being processed to authorize the completion of the works of a new building in the northern area of the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), specifically in the parking lot used by workers, which could affect, due to its proximity, the vision of the Monastery of Los Jerónimos.
For that reason from the PSOE is requested to be canceled any authorization that does not have all the urban and cultural guarantees in the surroundings of this Property of Cultural Interest (BIC), to avoid in this way a new infraction of the UCAM in this area of Murcia .
Councilman Enrique Ayuso recalls that "at the present time most of the buildings in the southern area of Los Jerónimos are illegal because they lack a building permit".
"In addition, as the PSOE reported in July 2017, they do not have an activity license to develop their academic function," adds the mayor.
The PSOE also recalls that it has demanded that the City Council not approve the declaration of exceptional interest, which has been requested by the UCAM, to legalize buildings that are located on a protected garden floor and in the vicinity of a BIC.
And, in the same way, it raises that the San Antonio Foundation, to which the Catholic University of Murcia belongs, is asked to have an activity license to carry out its tasks, like the rest of the companies in the municipality. academic
