The City of Murcia maintains the recommendations to the population to improve air quality, especially while maintaining anticyclone conditions that hinder the dispersion of contaminating particles.
These measures include reducing prolonged exposure and performing physical exercise or activities that require effort outdoors, choose to travel by foot or bicycle, use public transport to reduce traffic and, if necessary take the car, share the travel with other people, keep it in perfect condition and with catalysts that regulate the exhaust gases.
In addition, it is advisable to perform an efficient driving: start gently, use the engine brake, avoid accelerations and sudden braking, etc., trying to reduce the speed of movement.
Likewise, in order to favor optimum air quality, it is advisable to turn off unnecessary lights and appliances that are not being used, to lower the temperature of the heating or air conditioning of the houses in order to minimize energy consumption, postpone the burning of stubbles and agricultural margins and reduce ventilation in homes.
These recommendations correspond to the level of pollution warning, the lowest of the possible, after three days in which the average daily value has been slightly exceeded.
In the day today, in the last 10 hours - from 4 in the morning - that level has not been reached, set at 45 μg / m³.
