The archaeological site of San Esteban will have a new lighting.
The project, approved today by the Governing Board, involves the installation of lighting both in the areas where UMU scientists are carrying out the excavations and in the wooden path enabled for the passage of guided tours of the Arrabal of the Arrixaca.
Specifically, the Department of Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, which directs Rebeca Perez, plans to install 8 projectors to illuminate the cemetery and the inn, where at the moment the work of archaeological research is carried out, and the rest will be arranged with an LED strip for ground lighting, at ground level, where the pedestrian walkway extends.
In this way a double objective will be achieved.
On the one hand, improve the safety of visitors and people involved in the excavations and, on the other hand, identify the field work areas of the team composed of eight archaeologists, two anthropologists, two restorers and a surveyor, in addition to student in practice
The project has a budget of 67,700 euros and a deadline of six months
