The Governing Board has given the green light to the resolution of the call for grants managed by the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, which aims to recruit for a minimum of twelve months, new staff with permanent contracts or transformation of temporary contracts in indefinite.
In total, 62 grants have been awarded that have generated 17 new jobs: 6 temporary contracts and 11 undefined ones;
and 45 transformations have been made from temporary to indefinite contracts.
The creation of stable employment is the priority objective of the call for grants promoted by the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, whose resolution has been approved today by the Governing Board, with a budget of 304,929 euros.
The interest of the initiative is to facilitate and support the hiring of unemployed people and promote job stability by contracting for a minimum of twelve months, new staff with permanent contracts or the transformation of temporary contracts into permanent contracts and the creation of new ones. Job positions.
This doubled the minimum of the contracting period, since in the previous call it was six months.
Framed in the same, the City Council's intention is to encourage and promote economic activity in the city of Murcia by granting grants to SMEs, micro-SMEs, who develop their activity in any of the following types of companies: individual, community of goods , social economy companies, mercantile companies, non-profit organizations and insertion companies whose tax domicile or work center is located in the municipality.
Once the resolution process has been completed, the Governing Board has granted grants to 51 beneficiaries: 32 companies, 18 self-employed workers and 1 cooperative society.

The period of eligible contracts was between October 18, 2017 and August 31, 2018.
The people hired in this new call must be registered in the municipality of Murcia before hiring, and also meet any of these requirements prior to the start of the employment relationship or transformation:
- Under 30 years enrolled in the National Youth Guarantee System.
- Over 45 years old.
- Long-term unemployed persons (more than 12 months uninterruptedly registered as unemployed, in the last 18 months).
- Women / men from single-parent families with family responsibilities.
- People with disabilities equal to or greater than 33%.
- Students trained in the Employment Service of the City of Murcia, in the last two years, in Certificates of Professionalism of any level.
- Women victims of gender violence.
- People with difficulty in entering the labor market
- Persons temporarily hired whose contract is transformed into an indefinite
