The project of "Comprehensive care for socially vulnerable children in the municipality of Murcia" developed by Columbares Association, focuses mainly on preventing socio-educational exclusion, promote school performance and provide participants with tools to help them in their day a day as neighbors.
The project has a multicultural character where, every year since 2016, about 50 primary school children of different nationalities and ethnicities such as Spanish, Moroccan, Ecuadorian, Honduran, Algerian and Gypsy, live and share all the cultural wealth that this tower of babel can contribute making a situation of vulnerability, one of its virtues.
The main axes in which we work are educational reinforcement, sports activities, creative workshops and advice-guidance with families.
In all the activities the values ​​of cooperation, respect, effort and self-esteem are always worked from a perspective of gender equality.
Among the main results that have been obtained are the school motivation and the social skills they have acquired, which implies an increase in school performance and the integration of these children.
This project, funded by the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities through the aid lines of the fight against poverty and social exclusion, is carried out entirely in the municipality of Murcia, mainly in the hamlets of Alquerías and Los Ramos.
