The three motions presented to the last Plenary of the year by the councilors of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel, Margarita Guerrero and Sergio Ramos, have gone ahead.
The first one debated was that of the municipal group spokesman, Nacho Tornel, so that the City Council would provide enough staff to the municipal archive, since the insufficiency of human resources - it does not have its own service manager or archivist - makes the staff have to devote themselves to administrative tasks.
The objective of this proposal, which has been approved unanimously, is that, as in any institution that collects documents of historical value, it can prioritize the work of conservation, archiving and research, in a space appropriate to their needs.
The Corporation has also given the green light -with the votes in favor of the opposition and the rejection of the PP- to the initiative of Margarita Guerrero so that, following the example of the neighborhood of San Cristobal de Madrid, the Consistory developed a campaign in bars and businesses to disprove the stereotypes and false rumors about the migrant population.
The aforementioned campaign, low budget and simple execution, includes the design and dissemination of napkins and paper bags with messages that combat the false beliefs that have permeated the collective imagination.
During the vote of an alternative of the PP to this motion, both the mayor, José Ballesta, and the secretary of the Plenary, have made a misreading of the sense of the votes of the councilors that has forced them to repeat the process.
Finally the proposal of the government team has declined, and the original, Cambiemos Murcia, has gone ahead.
The motion of the mayor Sergio Ramos for the implementation of an inspection campaign to help detect the presence of low quality alcohol, known as garrafón, in bars and clubs of the municipality, has also been approved after the incorporation of the contributions of the groups.
The rehabilitation of the La Paz neighborhood
Regarding the motion presented by the PSOE for the preparation of a plan of action of public initiative for the rehabilitation of the neighborhood of La Paz, Nacho Tornel has criticized that the PP allowed the assistance of the promoter José López Rejas to the last meeting of the table of work for the recovery of the neighborhood.
"It seems incredible to us that in a meeting in which the government team and opposition groups are present, the presence of a businessman with speculative direct interests is allowed, who wants to appropriate the land in which they have lived and live. working families, with the sole objective of getting rich at their expense, "he said.
The spokesman of the municipal group of Cambiemos Murcia has insisted that the entrepreneur's project has counted from the beginning with the "blessing" of the PP.
"Both Ballesta and the Councilor for Urbanism, Navarro Corchón, have helped the promoter to wait for better times to open the door to the Town Hall."
