The University of Murcia, within the campaign 'This Christmas breaks with the plastic', has carried out during the last month the collection of plastic bottles thanks to the collaboration of the university community.
With all the bottles collected, this week two large Christmas trees are being built, one in the courtyard of the Campus de la Merced and another in the University Social Center (Campus de Espinardo) with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of reusing containers and Discard the plastic.
The trees will be located in both locations during all the Christmas holidays.
The participation in the collection campaign and in the decoration of the tree has been open to the entire university community.
The University of Murcia is sensitive to the global problem caused by the consumption of plastic and, conscious of its work as a teaching institution and social reference, feels the responsibility to promote environmental awareness actions following the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations.
