The socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, has held this morning a meeting with the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Lopez Abad, who has shown his willingness to work to reactivate and strengthen the economy of the municipality.
In this sense, Serrano has highlighted "our desire to find the balance between downtown and neighborhoods of the city and districts, and one of the great strengths is in trade as one of the essential engines to stoke and accelerate our economy."
In addition, he added that "it is also an essential sector to promote greater tourism and quality, and its capacity to generate employment is undoubted."
Therefore, based on the belief that the PSOE appreciates the capacity of the trade for its entrepreneurial nature, for providing stability in employment and for generating local wealth, "our bet is clear, it is local commerce, but we must not leave it to their fate, continuous campaigns of sensitization and stimulation are necessary, especially in the districts, "explained Serrano.
During the last years, "we have proposed from subsidizing parking to customers to reduce rates and times to open a position in a supply market, which require a regeneration plan to turn them into pleasant and attractive places." The socialist candidate, who recalls that "we are working on the design of a good plan of proposals and measures to boost our industry and our economy", has highlighted the implementation of a Municipal Institute of Economic Development and Employment that, in addition to being a business facilitator, to become a manager of attraction of investments and establishment of more sustainable companies in the municipality.
Likewise, we also "see the need for the creation of a Technological District where the implantation of technology companies through tax incentives is favored".
Finally, he pointed out that "all this is part of a much broader set of proposals in which we are working and we want to develop from the City of Murcia to achieve a municipal industry linked to knowledge, new technologies and sustainability, and also a commerce linked to the tourist development and backbone with our municipality ".
