The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has approved the expenditure of 110,800 euros for the execution of the collaboration agreement with 27 institutes of the municipality.
In this way, about 25,000 students will be able to carry out extracurricular activities throughout this course.
The Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, who also heads the Municipal Youth Service, stressed that "extracurricular activities are very important for the development of our young people, they are a complement that helps them become more socialized and know their environment, are moments in which they can enhance their creativity and show their talent.The teaching that our young people receive from the municipality, both personal and professional, in the institutes is of quality, thanks to the efforts of their teachers ".
Each center can present the chosen projects, prioritizing the activities most demanded by the students themselves, with contents on integration and tolerance, gender equality, school violence, environmental and health education and the appropriate use of social networks.
Inter-center activities will also be financed, that is, those that are carried out in collaboration with another or several centers on the aforementioned topics, or of a novel and experimental nature;
as well as those that are carried out jointly with entities or associations of the area of ​​the institute.
Among the educational and / or informative activities that have been programmed, those of integration and tolerance, gender equality, school violence, environmental education, health education and appropriate use of social networks stand out.
To this is added a complete offer of workshops and training courses in the following disciplines of performing arts, visual arts, plastic arts, chess, comics, music, literature, crafts, design and new technologies.
