Made by the Los Martínez del Puerto Belenista Association, in collaboration with the Fuente Alamo Belenista Association and the José de Nazaret Belenista Association of La Arboleja, the reproduction figures of the Bethlehem de Salzillo, made in 1951 by José Nicolás, are on display Almansa, with Pedro Chico and Antonio Turpín Botella, who are usually exhibited in the City Museum and had not been used for 20 years in the Municipal Bethlehem.
It is a Bethlehem with an irregular geography, abrupt and broken, with many details and picturesque corners, which gives shelter and serves as a stage for the Groups and Mysteries of Biblical History: The Dream of Saint Joseph (which has been added a figure that had been lost in the reproduction), Reading of the Decree of the Register of Emperor Augustus, Asking for Posada, Annunciation to the Shepherds, Group of Musicians, Birth and Temple, Courtship of the Magi, Degollación de los Inocentes and Escape to Egypt.
The figures of the Annunciation to the Virgin have not been preserved in the reproduction and have been replaced by figures of other craftsmen from Murcia.
It is made in different planes, so that from any location it is possible to contemplate several scenes of great landscape richness.
There are two well differentiated sections: the green zone, more leafy, bathed by the river, typical of the orchard area, and another more arid, which is also perfectly recognizable in the Murcian orography.
The buildings are typical of the eighteenth century, making a nod to the huertano landscape with the inclusion of a typical Murcia tower house.
Ecological construction
It has been constructed in plaster and plaster, without any artificial pigment, since the polychrome is made with crushed dry moss and natural earths of different shades.
All vegetation is made with dry plants treated with spray adhesive and sprayed with mosses to give them their own greenness.
It is therefore a completely ecological construction.
