Mayor José Ballesta and members of the Corporation attended the Christmas Square welcome show, in which Rosa de España, who has been Tree's Godmother, Funambulist and Belter Souls, acted.

The lighting of the Great Christmas Tree, orchestrated by an audio-pyromusical show, 45 special effects machines and 50,000 watts of 360º sound, dazzled the thousands of people who attended the event.
Great Christmas Tree Programming
This year the leisure areas around the tree have been extended with two new recreation and rest areas with artificial turf and free wifi.
In addition, the environment of the Tree is warmer thanks to the installation of heating plates.
Two themed areas have also been recreated with large decorative elements that will allow you to immerse yourself in two of the most special moments of Christmas: 'The night of illusion: the birth of Jesus', a replica of the Baroque nativity scene by Francisco Salzillo at size real, which is located inside the Tree, and 'The night of illusion: the Kings of the East arrive', which collects every detail of the Night of the Roscón and can be seen on the outside of the Tree.
The light of Christmas materializes thanks to 220,000 LED points of ultra low consumption and four guns that allow to project on the infrastructure a tree of light up to 800 meters high.
There are also effects of snow and fog around the tree.
In addition, it will have two daily audiovisual shows at 20.00 and 21.30 hours.
To decorate this monumental tree, 5 km of tinsel, 7 km of led garlands, 3 km of steel cable, 300 giant ornaments, 5,300 natural floral elements and 220 luminous flower pots have been used.
Opera, folklore from Murcia and rock with Santi Campillo and Diego Martín
There will be a total of 24 concerts of different styles: opera, floklore Murcia, gospel, traditional Christmas carols, classical music, electronics, etc.

The Great Tree of Christmas will accompany the Murcia from December 1 to January 5, with daily shows, music and performances.
The workshops (all free) will be held from 11.30 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 7.30 pm.
These are workshops and activities 'Made in Murcia', as they revolve around promoting and promoting Murcian Christmas traditions among Murcian children.
Schools from different districts of Murcia will visit the Tree during the holidays.

More than 50,000 chocolate coins
There are two scenarios for performances with a total area of ​​375m2, a Mailbox of Three Wise Men of 4 meters, Pages of 5 meters and two gingerbread houses in real size in which 50,300 chocolate coins will be distributed.
A Solidarity Point of Paje Real has also been enabled in which all the children who wish may donate their toys for the enjoyment of other children of the municipality.
