After a triumphant 2018 in which she has won all the titles she aspired to, the haltera Lydia Valentín, student of the Degree in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sports of the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), has taken stock of everything achieved in the last few months: "2018 has been incredible, I started winning the European Championship, then the Mediterranean Games and now the World Championship, it was an exceptional year that will go down in history because I could not win anything else. everything we have achieved because when you are preparing competitions you do not stop to think about what you have achieved, you go one by one, but now we are taking stock and gathering forces for 2019 which is very important as I have to win the place at the Tokyo Games. "
The Leonian athlete of the UCAM is very clear that with her track record (three Olympic medals, two world titles and four European titles) is one of the great strengths of Spanish sport for the next Olympic Games, but she warns: "It is a year and a half and it is logical that all the focus is on the summer of 2020, but first we have to go through the European and the 2019 World Cup, and all the competitions that score for the qualification, all the work is already focused on Tokyo 2020. "
