The socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, says he does not understand how the same party governs in the Region and the City Council, once again the Community punishes the neighbors of the municipality, "so that is committed to "when I am mayor I will fight to recover what Murcia deserve" and that the PP "takes away one more time".
Serrano has offered a press conference this morning with the spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Joaquín López, accompanied by the spokesperson of the Municipal Socialist Group in the City Council, Susana Hernández, and the regional deputy Alfonso Martínez Baños, and has indicated that the total amount of the regional budgets for Murcia amounts to 63.5 million euros, which means an average of 143 euros per inhabitant, "very far from the regional average which is 184 euros, so there is a difference of 41 euros. this last amount is multiplied by the more than 400,000 citizens residing in the municipality, we obtain a result of more than 18 million euros ".
Therefore, "we start from a deficit to which we must add the 39 million euros that supposes the Murcia City Council assume improper competitions", affirms the socialist candidate, who points out that if those 57 million euros, are added the expenses derived from, for example, being the capital of the Region and the debt of the Community for the IBI of its administrative buildings, "the deficit from which we started each year is exorbitant".
For Joaquín López, "these budgets of resignation pose a scenario in which the citizens of the Region of Murcia is still more unequal, growth and economic recovery will only be seen in a few, which are the ones that have always been seen benefited with the Government of the right ".
He also explained that "this is the PP, this is the pact of resignation with Citizens: the abandonment of the municipalities and some investments that, today, about to enter the month of December, are executed in the 2018 budget at 30 percent. "
Finally, Serrano has specified that "we must not forget that in the 63.5 million euros allocated to the municipality of Murcia, are included the 21.5 million euros committed by the Autonomous Community in the agreement for the burial".
