The Plenary Session of the City Council unanimously approved a motion to change Murcia to commemorate the foundation of the city by Abd al-Rahman II in the year 825, with an annual program with different institutional, cultural and social activities that value the Andalusian roots Township.
The initiative, defended by the spokesman of the municipal group, Nacho Tornel, has been assumed by the rest of municipal groups, who have made some contributions to the text as a proposal for the transfer of the statue of the emir -three meters high- to a more visible place.
It has also been given the green light -with the support of the entire Corporation- to the motion of the mayor Sergio Ramos to request the Council of Transparency to monitor compliance with the obligations of active publicity and the right of access to public information, collected in the state law of Transparency and Good Government.
Ramos recalled that the Legal Council decided that the 45 municipalities of the Region would be exempt from complying with the basic state regulations, so that the citizenship of this community is in a situation of disparity in relation to the rest of the population, which implies "a violation of the right to equality".
Likewise, the motion of the councilor of municipal training, Margarita Guerrero, for the creation of a Municipal Animal Welfare Council that serves to give continuity to the work carried out by this legislature in the Mesa created on this area.
The creation of a cultural program around the traditional street market of Todos los Santos, in the Plaza de San Pedro, and the provision of public transport for the children of the Nicolás Raya school that, in the absence of a dining room in its center, attend the educational center Delgado Dorrego, both of Tornel, have also come forward.
The joint motions in which Cambiemos Murcia has participated have been approved by majority, both the first of the debates against the repression in the Rif, presented by Murcia Murcia and Now Murcia, as the second, Cambiemos Murcia, PSOE and now Murcia on the recognition of the international student day and support for student demands.
Regarding the initiative of Ramos to reject the decision of the Supreme Court on the tax on mortgages, Murcia Murcia has withdrawn it since the group of Unidos Podemos is working on a more updated one that will be presented at the Plenary next month.
The one concerning the repeal of the crime of insults to the Crown and the holding of a referendum on monarchy or republic, of the same councilor, has been rejected.
