Since 09:00 this morning, the Regional Film Archive has hosted one of the activities that will be part of this second day of the cultural week that the UCAM celebrates, framed in the European project Refresh.
The two film experts have put value on audiovisual culture, specifically in this genre, as a tool for tourism promotion.
In this way, Dr. Manuel González Sicilia, professor of the Degree in Audiovisual Communication of the UCAM, has commemorated the history of the region's cinema and its influence on tourism during its traditional festivals, citing some of the first pieces filmed in the city of Murcia by authors such as Mariano Bo, Julián Oñate, Pedro Sanz, Mariano Hurtado Juan Bautista or Antonio Crespo, among others.
In addition, he has highlighted the contribution of the audiovisual diffusion of this city in successful television programs such as the NO-DO, whose director Manuel Augusto García, was from Murcia.
Dr. Eugeni Osácar, has emphasized the usefulness of cinema as a marketing tool that has enhanced tourism in cities around the world thanks to the appearance of emblematic scenes on the big screen.
According to the Catalan doctor, 80 million tourists choose their destination because they saw it in a movie, 6.1% of the total number of tourists in 2018.
