The candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, who will be on Sunday morning in the mobilization convened in the Plaza de la Merced, states that "the administration should try to repair the suffering of women by providing resources so that they can normalize their lives as soon as possible"
The candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, is committed to fighting gender violence by strengthening and expanding the resources and means of the City Council, because "this scourge that is causing so much damage to our society is not resolved if it is not confronted by all days without losing that objective of view ".
"I believe that in this serious problem the administration in general, and in particular the local one because of its closeness to the citizen, can do a lot, has an essential role to play without losing heart and making available to the victims the best resources, in a way that efficient and agile, "says Serrano, who notes that in this matter it is urgent to raise awareness of the entire population, so we must strengthen awareness programs through the extensive network that we have in the municipality of educational centers, youth, of elders, of women ... ".
The mayoral candidate insists that "the City Council should try as much as possible to repair the suffering of women victims of gender violence by providing resources so that they can normalize their lives as soon as possible."
He also states that "we can extend our support to the victims, for example, by increasing the number of shelters and checking that companies linked in one way or another with the Consistory are reserving enough jobs for women who have gone through an episode. so painful".
In this regard, he adds that "unfortunately, Murcia is the largest municipality in a region that has too many cases of gender violence and we have to do much more".
In addition, José Antonio Serrano, who these days is participating in demonstrations such as the concentration in the Plaza Fuensanta and the visit to the exhibition of Trazo 6 in the Casino entitled 'Brushstrokes against gender violence', points out that there are studies that claim that quantomejores are the jobs and working conditions, women feel more secure and protected and have more resources to defend against gender violence.
For this reason, Serrano affirms that when he arrives at City Hall, he will work to reinforce the ongoing measures and articulate others so that they protect and guarantee the recovery of the victims, who "need support 365 days a year, so we should not just agree on a day like 25N. "
