The University of Murcia, in its purpose to promote actions of environmental awareness among the university community, has launched a campaign that consists of changing the bottles and plastic bags of a single use for other reusable ones.
In addition, containers will be placed in each of the campuses for those who want to deposit the material freely.
With all the material collected, a large Christmas tree will be made to reflect on the generation of waste associated with this production model.
The campaign will be active until December 21st.
The objective pursued with this action is to raise awareness among students, administration and service personnel, and teaching and research staff of the problems caused by the consumption of plastic, as well as propose a change in consumer habits.
This campaign is in addition to the actions carried out by the Vice Rector for Planning Infrastructures in their commitment and dissemination of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations and the 2030 agenda in the UMU;
specifically those dedicated to 'Clean Water and Sanitation', 'Responsible Production and Consumption', 'Action for climate' and 'Underwater life'.
