This morning the demolition work has started on the house that partially collapsed last week on the street Bibliófilo Pérez Gómez number 8.
The situation presents the building, whose interior partially collapsed, requires to intervene manually, without using heavy machinery, for security reasons both for vehicles, as for the neighbors and the workers of the company that carries out the work, post that the technicians estimate that there may be a risk of the rest of the structure yielding if it were operated with machinery.
Hence, the brick-to-brick demolition is proceeding.
For this reason, the street has been cut off to traffic early in the morning.
This closure will continue tomorrow, while on Sunday the intention is to open the road to traffic temporarily, since the demolition will resume as of Monday.
It will be carried out manually until it is finished removing the third and fourth floors.
When this happens, the possibility of lightening the intervention with machines will be evaluated.
The company in charge of the work notified the neighbors of the area of ​​the street cut, which affects a garage.
Yesterday at noon posters were placed to warn of this incident.
In any case, the councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Garden, Antonio Navarro, has expressed regrets' the inconvenience that can cause this demolition, but we are all aware that the priority is to ensure the safety of neighbors and workers and that it involves obvious setbacks, but always better than allowing a situation of risk for people. '
In any case, Navarro has assured that it will be intensified as much as possible to allow the reopening of the street as soon as possible.
