The degree in Veterinary Medicine of the University of Murcia has obtained international accreditation from the European Association for the Establishment of Veterinary Education (EAEVE), an official accreditation entity for European veterinary faculties.
In the meeting held last Thursday, November 22, the Education Committee of the EAEVE determined that the veterinary studies of the UMU are worthy of this accreditation for 7 years (from 2017 to 2024).
Within the work protocol, the faculty will have to make a follow-up report that reflects the advances in the minor deficiencies and the suggestions of the evaluation committee, as well as re-submitting to the evaluation in 2023 to maintain this quality recognition.
The University of Murcia and the Complutense University of Madrid are the only Spanish universities that maintain this accreditation with the current evaluation standards.
EAEVE's mission is to evaluate and promote the development of quality veterinary faculties and the teaching that takes place there.
For this, its main objective is to monitor the harmonization of the minimum standards of veterinary studies programs in the European Union established in Directive 2005/36 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of September 7, 2005, relative the recognition of professional qualifications; and in Directive 2013/55 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 November 2013 amending Directive 2005/36 / EC, on the recognition of professional qualifications and the Regulation ( EU) 1024/2012 on administrative cooperation through the Internal Market Information System ("IMI Regulation").
The Vicerrectorado of Quality, Culture and Communication considers the renewal of this accreditation as something very positive and satisfactory, thanks the members of the Faculty of Veterinary the effort made and encourages the rest of the centers of the University of Murcia to meet the standards of quality that currently have the faculties of Biology, Computer Science and Veterinary.
