Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Perez, said today that "the recovery of San Esteban is a solid project and consolidated over time," which "does not need partisan soflamas," in response to the press release remitted by the Socialist Municipal Group that is attributed "in an absurd and ridiculous way" the unlocking of the works of recovery of the deposit.
Pérez said that 'San Esteban is a city project, which we have always tried to keep away from partisan interests'.
'Since its inception continues, we have intended that the recovery of this space has the greatest social consensus (with neighbors), with the most prestigious international experts, with all the groups of the municipality (professional associations), with the maximum institutional support (the three administrations) and the maximum political commitment '.
The councilor and spokesperson of the Popular municipal group recalled that 'the work started this week of the so-called phase Zero of San Esteban are the result of the agreement between the University of Murcia and the City' and 'has nothing to do with the protagonism that is trying put the socialist spokesperson.

February 2017. Adjudication of the Master Plan after more than 6,500 hours of work.
March of 2017. The perimeter works of San Esteban begin.
July 2017. Approval of the Progress of the San Esteban Master Plan and Special Plan for the management and protection of the archaeological zone.
The mayor Ballesta and the rector of the UMU sign the agreement of the Zero Phase of San Esteban.
Signing of a collaboration protocol between the City, Community and State for the elaboration of the project.
November 2019. The zero phase of recovery of the deposit begins with the entry of archaeologists.
