Cambiemos Murcia has presented a motion to the plenary session of the municipal board of Aljucer tomorrow, requesting the creation of a commission to offer mediation work among banking entities and families in the district who are at risk of being evicted, and in which the political groups are represented, the social services of the City Council and the Platform of Affected by Mortgages (PAH).
In the motion, the municipal training also requests that a space be enabled in the municipal center so that, at least once a week, the PAH can exercise a work of information and advice to those affected, and urges the Consistory and the Community Autonomous to apply the agreements adopted to guarantee the right to housing, recognized in the Spanish Constitution.
In this sense, Maribel Cabezos, vocal of Murcia Change in the hamlet, recalled that the City Council agreed in 2014 to declare Murcia municipality free of evictions and promised to ensure access to basic supplies to households at risk of social exclusion and its rehousing in a municipal or private dwelling on a social rental basis in case of being evicted.
For its part, the regional Assembly approved in 2016 the reform of the Housing Law, still pending the corresponding regulatory development, and the implementation of agreements with municipalities, with water, electricity and gas supply companies, and with financial institutions .
"None of this has been fulfilled until today, in fact, Murcia is the community in which evictions grow the most," Cabezos has added.
Yes it has highlighted the "support" received by those affected by the PAH, a group that "has become a space for meeting and help" whose work to denounce the "bank abuse and institutional representation" and its action In the paralization of evictions has been, in his opinion, "decisive to prevent many families from staying on the street."
